The 70s had a lot of bangers, but I think the 80s is the memories because it was when I was a teen.

80s for me, definitely. Interestingly though the messages of the 30s and 40s music were important at the time. Uplifting and patriotic during the war, the songs brought people together and cheered up troops. And in later years, when those folks had Alzheimers the music soorhed them, because those were times they could remember. Speaking…

What risks did you take last year (2025) that paid off?

I hate to say it, but closing the club. I’ve been knocking off my writing assignments one by one, and running the club full time wasn’t allowing for that.

#ClubReflections – When we upgraded the coffee bar to add the world’s most expensive coffee machine (Jura E8), we had a naming contest. One of the many uses for the Metaphor Club chalk wall. “Jureezy” won!

Ain’t gonna lie, y’all. My writing productivity is off the charts now that the club is closed. The irony of the club is that it was highly productive for our members, but it had the opposite effect on me.
I don’t regret anything about the club, but I am happy to feel the freedom to write like I used to. I’m surpassing my daily word counts…

I’d vowed to stop writing non-fiction books, and here I am re-writing a book proposal. I was doing this for the end of September, but now I’m motivated to get it done now. Finishing a re-writing of the Divine Nine. The physical copy will be done before the end of August. It’s finishing the permissions. I never miss deadlines, but I missed this…
