Thoughts on Bad Bunny being announced this year’s Super Bowl halftime show performer? I think it will be a good show and he probably will take digs at Trump.
Brett-
I’m here for the digs at trump and the maga outrage. I’m too old and boring to have a relevant take on musical artists.

I did just see a post on IG from the Kelce brothers New Heights Show where they had Freddie Freeman on. Freddie lets his son pick his walk up songs and he picked Bad Bunny. Pretty funny exchange about how the son doesn’t understand Spanish so they had to veto a song because of the lyrics.

Just saw an interesting perspective about this on Instagram. With Apple as the halftime sponsor and the recent release of their Airpods with translation capabilities, it may be a brilliant marketing move.

I wonder if Kimmel is gonna empty out the clip tonight during his opening monologue?

I ain’t gonna lie. I’m gonna watch to see. I think Jimmy told folks that he was gonna sue them for a billion and they were like, ‘on second thought…’ LOL

Watching the monologue on social media this morning. I’d say he was effective in pointing out the hypocrisy on free speech. Even gave a “compliment” to some adversaries (eg Ted Cruz) to emphasize the point, while also making fun of them. It could be argued he capitulated too much in some areas (eg Erika Kirk). Had a message of how…

And after reading more commentary on other platforms, I am reminded how my initial reaction is through a very privileged lens.

Denzel is embracing his Black Old Man Don’t Give a Fuck era. Every interview is a version of…
“Fuck being a star. What’s that?”

“I got money. You broke.”
“What I need to act for?”
“I’m a stage actor.”
“Sports sucks.”
“Why you here?”

I’ll watch a movie just because he’s in it.

The Gilded Age shows the importance of Black folks behind the camera. It’s the first period drama that has done a Black storyline right. It shows the world of colorism, class, and wealth within the Black community during the post-Civil War era, and does it seamlessly as it examines the same within the white Robber Baron class.

Was curious to know who are some of your most underrated artists/bands of the 80’s?

Prefab Sprout. Loved them! Their album, “Two Wheels Good,” is a must-have.

This is a really excellent doc that I suggest everyone check out. It goes way beyond entertainment and explores how groundbreaking it was for Ed Sullivan to feature Black performers on his show, as well as the pushback he got for it behind the scenes and publicly. It’s on Netflix now.

Wait…howcomes you ain’t even tole me about this???

Started watching this… my favorite quote so far from Ed is when talking about his parents. “They weren’t necessarily broad minded…. they were just sensible” when talking about their views on segregation/racism.

Saw it a few weeks ago and it was very good. Ed Sullivan stood on business when he knew it would cost him those ad dollars and piss off Southern affiliates that aired his show.
