I helped set up a vintage beauty museum/collection today. Had my hands on everything from face powder and compacts from the 1920’s to makeup used by Max Factor on set.
Also saw crazy ish, like actual makeup used for blackface. And get a load of this madness! It was from a KID’s makeup kit (didn’t document the year). Can you see what the tins on the side are labeled (uh, let alone the illustrations). There was one on the back of this called “Chinaman”. I can’t.
