@j-hubbz I’m reading in parts:

I love the tease, even though I’m not a big proponent of prologues. If it’s in the story, then just start that tease as Chapter 1. It’s great backstory that does a wonderful job of doing a bunch of things: I know the stakes, but the mystery about what happened is still there. Since we play with time and space, there’s no need to sorta signal to the reader that this isn’t being told linearly. Just go with it, and the Chapter 2, we’ll automatically know that we’re back in time before the first part happened.

But you definitely have my attention, and I like how our character escaped the first encounter with the cop and then we see him get caught. Awesome.

Oh, as long as they keep investing, the WNBA will continue to bear fruit. I don’t watch regularly, but it’s on my sports radar. I definitely need to go to some games. Wanted to see Juju at USC, but that was damn near impossible. Never seen UCLA and USC women’s basketball take over the city at the same time. They’ve been great separately, but not at the same time.

How is your daughter in COLLEGE??? Also, you’ve met my friend, Jen Fry, right? She’s big in the volleyball ranks and sports in general. Also, one of my writing students, who isn’t on the platform yet, has a daughter who plays in high school, and is going to USC. Not sure if she’s playing volleyball in college, though.

I’m a Raiders fan, but I keep trying to get off that narcotic. And yet, each year, they bring me back in. Reality, I’m much more a college football fanatic than an NFL fan.

I have a sinking feeling that Trump is gonna pardon him. He has the right profile: rich, abuses women, and he’ll think that he can get a percentage of sexist Black men to support it.

I love Dan Campbell. He just seems like an authentic guy in a game of phonies.
