Job Duties:

The Assistant Director of Leadership Development and FSL Engagement reports to the Director of Student Engagement serves as a key leader in the Office of Student Engagement, with primary responsibilities for the oversight of the leadership development of student organizations and fraternity and sorority community. The position plays a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and values-based co-curricular experience that enhances student growth, community engagement, and institutional success by assisting student leaders across campus with the development of leadership skills that support their student organizations and preparing them for leadership roles after graduation. This position impacts retention by encouraging belonging and practical application of skills sought after by employers. This position contributes to a vibrant Greek Life community by supports 12 chapters across 3 governing councils through recruitment, risk education, leadership training, programmatic support, and prioritizing student health and wellbeing.

 

Advise and coach the 3 governing councils (IFC, Panhellenic, and NPHC/MGC) and 12 affiliated chapters. Provide chapter development and coaching focused on scholarship, service, leadership, and accountability. Coordinate FSL educational programming, including recruitment training, new member education, officer onboarding, and chapter development workshops. Support large-scale FSL programs such as Greek Week, council retreats, Order of Omega, and values-based recognition initiatives
Collaborate with Residence Life to support FSL Housing initiatives. · Oversee FSL Budgets. Advocate for the value of fraternity and sorority life with students, alumni, and university stakeholders. Communicate the contributions of the FSL and student organizations in communities through reports, marketing, and strategic partnerships. Design and implement leadership workshops, retreats, and ongoing development opportunities for FSL members.
Provide vision and structure for university-wide student leadership initiatives and workshops. Lead education and training initiatives that support successful student organizations by enhancing co-curricular learning and leadership. Facilitate training for student organization leaders and advisors on event registration, university policy compliance, and responsible hosting practice.
Utilizes data, campus trends, and themes to develop the overall prevention and intervention initiatives for the sorority and fraternity community; uses evidence-based practices to guide prevention and wellness initiatives aimed at risk management, harm reduction and wellness; assesses the overall impact and effectiveness of such programs
Collaborate with campus partners to promote proactive and promote the holistic development of the student body. Ensure student organizations have the resources to host safe, inclusive, and mission-aligned events
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in student affairs, communications, public relations or related discipline

Minimum two years of experience working in a higher education setting.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, communications, public relations, education or a related discipline

3 years of related experience
