Denzel is embracing his Black Old Man Don’t Give a Fuck era. Every interview is a version of…
“Fuck being a star. What’s that?”
“I only care bout God, so who are you?”
“I got money. You broke.”
“What I need to act for?”
“I’m a stage actor.”
“Sports sucks.”
“Why you here?”

I’ll watch a movie just because he’s in it.

The Gilded Age shows the importance of Black folks behind the camera. It’s the first period drama that has done a Black storyline right. It shows the world of colorism, class, and wealth within the Black community during the post-Civil War era, and does it seamlessly as it examines the same within the white Robber Baron class.

Was curious to know who are some of your most underrated artists/bands of the 80’s?

Prefab Sprout. Loved them! Their album, “Two Wheels Good,” is a must-have.

This is a really excellent doc that I suggest everyone check out. It goes way beyond entertainment and explores how groundbreaking it was for Ed Sullivan to feature Black performers on his show, as well as the pushback he got for it behind the scenes and publicly. It’s on Netflix now.

Started watching this… my favorite quote so far from Ed is when talking about his parents. “They weren’t necessarily broad minded…. they were just sensible” when talking about their views on segregation/racism.

Saw it a few weeks ago and it was very good. Ed Sullivan stood on business when he knew it would cost him those ad dollars and piss off Southern affiliates that aired his show.

The cancellation of The Late Show in May of 2026 to me screams higher ups appeasing Trump in order to get that Paramount Skydance merger approved (Still pending FCC approval) also with the approval of public broadcasting getting funds gutted it is a scary time for media in my opinion.

His album Instant Vintage is one of my favorite albums of all time, no tracks skipped. Released in 2002 and I still listen to it regularly. As a Prince fan as well, it all makes sense.
“In 1984, shortly before his 18th birthday, Saadiq heard about tryouts in San Francisco for Sheila E.’s backing band on Prince’s Parade Tour. At the audition,… Read more -
If anybody has seen the last season of Squid Game I want to get your thoughts and what U.S. based games you think would make the cut on the U.S. adaptation?
-
You know, I got three episodes into the first season of Squid Games and never came back. I don’t know. It was a great concept to me, but I didn’t really wanna see folks just randomly get killed over and over.
