Haiku 6
Oh Jilly, Philly’s
daughter, you sing in the key
of my heart’s very beat.

(Co)working space
where are you all working at these days?

I’ve been doing a rotation of Hilltop locations. I just finished my manuscript, so I won’t be back for about two weeks, but the Slauson Hilltop has been the best. Inglewood gets a LOT of traffic and tourists, while Sip and Sonder, my first post Metaphor Club space, closed down…for the same reasons we did. LOL

Do we seek to express or to succeed?
I find that writing is necessary for me. Though I hold to thoughts of bursting onto the scene with a book suitable for the NYT best sellers list, or a script steeped deeply in a some universal theme that speaks to audiences at large, in the end I just need to write. Haiku 5
I’d much rather see
ICE sparkle on a ring than

Haiku - Pace & Frequency
All Flame is Sunlight
But so are all explosives.
How/When do you shine?

Haiku - Inflated Plane Tickets
Locals dream of trips,
Refugees dream of a home;
find Peace where you are.
-
Haiku - Nothing is forever
Don’t wanna hear me:
what makes Love the exception?
Y’all just wanna dance.

Haiku - She cute
She’s light on her feet,
twirls when she closes a door;
Grace one can amore.

Sensitivity is the Name of the Game
Octavia E. Butler must have been a sensitive soul. I’ve convinced myself that her writing of Lauren in Parable of the Sower, a character who feels the pain of those around her as well as their joys, was based on Octavia herself. That is why Octavia was a recluse in her life. She felt too strongly the emotions of those around her. That…
